Success Stories

David Couch

David Couch from Hamilton, OH with a dandy old 64" bull he took on the 4th day of his hunt. We spotted this buster holed up in the brush, and had to do quite a bit of calling and raking to coax him out for a shot. It finally worked out to where he more or less came to us like he was on a string, and Dave took him at 125 yards. Sept. '09

Tom Hansen

Tom Hansen (left) and his packer Jeff Stevie with Tom’s 50" bull. We spotted this bull from camp. After a short stalk and a little bit of brush-raking and calling, we were able to get Tom set up for a 20-yard shot. Sept. '06

Jim Nordmark

Jim Nordmark (left) and Todd Walton with his 8 year old 11 1/4" x 6 1/4" billy. This goat, which came to be known as the “White Buffalo”, was way at the back of a ridge system. The body size and head gear of this goat is the largest I’ve ever been a part of to date. Oct. '06

Matt Puffer

Matt Puffer with his heavy 61" bull. We had to go into the brush for this one. It took a bit of calling before he finally presented Matt with an up and close shot.

During Matt Puffer’s hunt, we had a pack of ten wolves that were working the area. We watched them harass a group of moose, caught a glimpse once in a while and heard them howling almost every day. After having tagged out on his moose, we were able to howl one into range for Matt. Things were a little touch-and-go for awhile, but he ended up making a fantastic shot late one evening before sundown. Sept. '06

Brian Bailey

Brian Bailey of Onalaska, WA went the extra mile with us to take his nice ram. Brian hunted hard and looked over a number of other rams with us before we found an isolated pocket of habitat that this ram was living in. There was a couple of other legal rams in the bunch as well, but Brian really like the look of this ram and made a great 300 yard shot to seal the deal. Aug '09

Johnny Heard

Johnny Heard of Collinwood, TN. Johnny took his ram on opening morning after a glacier crossing. We had to wait for the fog to lift and he very calmly made the shot to take this 11-year-old ram. Aug. ’08.

Doyle Patterson

Doyle Patterson’s record book 10' brown bear. 28 14/16". A story can be read about this hunt in the 25th Big Game Awards book of B&C. October ’01

Scott Collins

Scott Collins and his record book brown bear taken on the first day of the hunt. This bear had a 28 3/16" skull and squared 10'.

Carl Phillips

Carl Phillips with his nice 40 2/8" x 39 6/8" x 13" ram. This ram made a cold, wet day worthwhile.
