About Alaska Big Game Safaris
Todd Walton was born and raised in Eastern
Washington and headed north to
Alaska chasing dreams and employment.
He pretty much hasn’t looked
back since. Todd has been fortunate to
hunt in many different areas of the
State and has had the opportunity
to work with some very reputable
guides over the last 11 years.
Todd grew up in the Chinook Pass area of Washington state in a home on a steep hillside from which you could
watch Rocky Mountain Goats scrambling on the nearby cliffs. Stalking them became a childhood pastime. This
influence, as well as time spent hunting elk and deer with his father and grandfather, led him to develop an early and
sustained passion for hunting and the outdoors.
Todd fought wildfires as a smokejumper throughout the western
United States and worked in the timber industry before heading to Alaska to chase a dream of becoming
a big game guide.
He gained Alaska outdoor experience by working on the Klutina River assisting with King
Salmon excursions and working as a packer. He then became an assistant guide hunting for Dall sheep and mountain goats
in the Chugach range, mountain goats in Southeast Alaska and brown bears on Kodiak Island and the Alaska
Peninsula.
Some of Todd's recent personal adventures have included hunting musk ox on Nunivak Island, hunting
Sitka Blacktail and moose, fishing for Arctic char in the Kongakut River, hunting Rocky Mountain bighorns in
northeastern Oregon, and of course, hunting Dall sheep in a variety of beautiful locations across Alaska. |
